MARU is a non-profit registered society committed to the exploration of the intersections between migration, art and race. MARU is unlimited in its scope.

The name ‘MARU’ has a variety of meanings and near-meanings. ‘MARU’ means ‘circle’ & has other related meanings such as ‘peace’, ‘people’ or ‘community’. MARU intends to explore these various meanings & intersections in its programs & projects.

Much of MARU’s work is carried out by volunteers under the supervision of MARU’s current director Zool Suleman.
